Last night’s Jefferson Symphony concert in Parfet Park attracted an impressive crowd! The Chamber reports that they had record crowds at the Golden Fine Arts Festival. Dave Powers took a few photos while checking out the art. See them on our Facebook page.
The Colorado School of Mines students begin classes today. Jeffco Public School students began last week.
The Downtown Development Authority will gather an hour earlier than usual this evening–at 5:30, rather than 6:30–so they can take a walking tour of their downtown domain. Afterward, they will convene in City Council Chambers for their regularly-scheduled (and recorded) 6:30 meeting. Xicamiti La Taquería Bistro (715 Washington Avenue) is requesting a $500-700 grant to help pay for a one-way film window sign. They will vote on a sales taxed-based TIF agreement of up to $58,000 with the Buffalo Rose. Last year, the DDA approved a property tax-based TIF agreement of up to $250,000 with the Buffalo Rose. The DDA is working on a legal/financial agreement with the new owners of 1100 Washington (the former funeral parlor), but the details are not yet finalized. To learn more about tonight’s DDA topics, review the meeting packet.
