Back to business…

citymeetingsWatch Online!

Now you know the holidays are over!  Here’s the run-down on this week’s city meetings.  All meetings will take place in the City Council chamber, and all will be broadcast.  The agendas and meeting packets are available on the city website.

Monday 6:30PM – Historic Preservation Board:  Consider granting “Certificates of Appropriateness” for a new home to be built at 10th & Illinois (within a historic district) and an addition on the back of the Table Mountain Vision building (1409 Washington Ave.).  Discuss their goals for 2016.

Weds 6:30PM – Planning Commission: Evaluate a site plan for a 69 unit assisted living facility and a 36 unit memory care building at Highway 93 and Golden Gate Canyon Road.

Thursday 9AM – Public Art Commission: Discuss the method and criteria for evaluating public art projects and proposals.  Vote on whether to get rid of several pieces of public art (including the deer by the Visitors Center, the kids sledding by the Library, the Victorian girl near the pedestrian bridge, the group of bears by the Clear Creek History Park, and the rodeo kids by the Golden Hotel).  If the Commission votes to get rid of them, they will hold a public hearing in March, to see whether the public agrees.

Thursday 6:30PM – City Council:  Councilor Marcie Miller will make her final remarks, and Councilor Casey Brown will be sworn in.  Mayor Sloan and Councilor Charis-Graves will be sworn in for their second terms.  City staff will show a video of 2015 highlights and will provide the results of a “well being” study done of the Golden population.  The Mayor will appoint councilors to various boards and commissions, both within the city and regionally.  Council as a whole will discuss process improvements for appointing citizens to Golden boards and commissions.
