The History Museum invites you to celebrate Homesteaders’ Day today from 10AM-2PM at the Clear Creek History Park. Experience 19th century homesteading, explore the historic cabins, try woodstove cooking, learn about blacksmithing, and take a lesson at the one-room schoolhouse. PLAN Jeffco’s In Plein Sight artists will be working on the path along Clear Creek today from 7AM-4PM. Take a leisurely stroll and observe art in the making! Afterwards, visit the Community Center to see a gallery of all plein air paintings created throughout the week, on view and on sale to the public. The Gallery is open today from 10AM-8PM and tomorrow from 10AM-4PM.
Thomas the Tank Engine is still visiting the Railroad Museum, so if you have youngster, make sure you plan to bring them!
The Golden History Roundtable meets this afternoon at the Library, from 12:30-2. We’ll have a guest host this month, with long-time Golden Librarian Jo Barber telling us about Golden History Source Materials and Where to Find Them. You’ll never meet anyone who knows more about this subject than Jo!
Councilor Casey Brown will have Craft Beer with a Councilor from 3-5PM at Don Cameron’s house, NE corner of 21st and East Streets (map). Sunday(s) Preview
The Golden Giddyup mountain bike race will be happening tomorrow, based in Lions Park. Vendors will begin moving in at 7AM and the race will start (in waves) at 8AM. There will be an Expo in the park from 10AM-6PM. Learn more about the race, the course they will follow, and the expo.
The Golden Gallop 5K-10K-Kids Run/Walk happens next Sunday, September 23rd. This is a benefit for the Golden Schools Foundation. It’s not too late to sign up!
