Make sure you visit the In Plein Sight Gallery today at the Golden Community Center to see the results of this week’s paint-a-thon in Jefferson County Open Space Parks. Enjoy seeing the art and consider buying a piece. A portion of the proceeds will benefit PLAN Jeffco’s educational outreach. The paintings will be on display from 10AM-3PM on the 2nd floor, Clear Creek Room, 1470 10th.
The Golden Giddyup race will be based in Lions Park today. The racers will depart in waves, beginning at 8AM. A bike expo will be going on all day, and the public is welcome:
Whether you’re gonna ride the Giddyup event or not, c’mon down to Lions Park for a day of fun in the sun. We’re throwing a rockin day of bluegrass, beers, and bike-time on Sunday, September 16th with dozens of great bike brands displaying their wares. Our family friendly event – including a kids’ bike course from Avid4Adventure, shenanigans from REI, food trucks, beer and whiskey – is gonna make for the best Sunday you’ve ever had (at least since last year’s Giddyup).
For the second year, we have teamed up with the great people at New Terrain Brewery who are making a yummy, tasty brew just for us. A tasty, hoppy, happy way to spend your Sunday, this beer is gonna taste great all day long, with proceeds supporting our trail efforts.
And, knowing our own beer and bike race and trails program aren’t enough to satisfy your high standards, we have invited Rapidgrass and two other bands to play our MainStage. Golden local Mark Morris and his band of players are gonna tear it up all afternoon with the sweet sounds of happiness in tune.
