The  Public Art Commission will meet at 9 this morning.  The agenda doesn’t say where the meeting will be, but try City Hall first, then the Community Center, then the Planning Building.  They will discuss the elk statue that the Heritage Dells neighborhood requested for their new roundabout.  The commission wants one artist, and the neighborhood wants another.  There may not be budget available for either.  City staff will provide an update on the giant hummingbird statue to be placed in the roundabout near King Soopers, and the medallions to be installed in the sidewalk along the creek, near the library.  Staff will also update the group on the status of the endangered statues along the Creek.

Have you noticed?  The Miner and Burro statue has been moved back to its original location, at 13th & Washington.  Learn more by reading the meeting packet.

If you’re a Leadership Golden alumnus, or are considering joining this fall’s class, plan to attend their meet and greet tonight (Thursday, July 7th) from 5:30-7:30 at the Old Capitol Grill (12th and Washington).
