My most popular posts almost always feature historic photos of Golden. In recent weeks, I’ve posted pages of downtown Golden (facing north and facing south). Today I’ve posted a big bunch of Coors photos! One of the photos comes from the Golden Landmarks Association’s collection, two from the Denver Public Library’s Western History Collection, and the rest come from my collection of antique postcards.
I was inspired to post these today because the Denver Postcard & Paper Show is taking place today (11AM-6PM) and tomorrow (9:30AM-4PM) at the Jeffco Fairgrounds (map). If you enjoy looking at old photos of Golden (as clearly, many of you do), the Postcard Show is a good opportunity to start your own collection of old Golden postcards.
Alternatively, the Golden History Museum, Golden Landmarks Association, and Denver Public Library all have great collections of historic Golden images, and you can order prints from any of them.
I attended the opening show for the Colorado Cowboy Gathering last night. It was delightful–beautiful music, funny poetry, and a very nice bunch of people. Make sure you find time to attend one of their shows this weekend.
