Until further notice, tubing, swimming, and rafting are not allowed on Clear Creek. This generally happens at this time of the year. The water is raging, and it’s just not safe. Kayaking is still permitted, with proper safety equipment. Learn more….
The big event for the weekend, of course, is the Golden Music Festival at Clear Creek History Park. This is a fund-raiser for the Golden History Museums, so you can enjoy great music and feel like a solid citizen all at the same time. They’ll have food and drink vendors on-site. The gates open at 5 today, and the first (of three) bands starts at 6.
You are RUNNING OUT OF TIME to see Biloxi Blues, the Neil Simon play at Miners Alley. There are only three weekends left, including this one. I saw it last weekend, and it was delightful–both funny and touching. It’s been getting great reviews:

Don’t forget tomorrow morning’s Golden Farmer’s Market. They’re open from 8AM-1PM. They have new vendors this year, so check ’em out!
