A full and snowy weekend

The weather forecast calls for snow, starting tonight and extended through Saturday and Sunday.  Nonetheless, we have a lot of options for things to do this weekend.

There’s a showing of the movie, Honor Diaries, tonight at the Mountaineering Center.  Honor Diaries is the first film to break the silence on ‘honor violence’ against women and girls.  Honor Diaries is more than a movie, it is a movement to save women and girls from human rights abuses – around the world and here in America.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  Program from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Go early for food & beverages and browse the Artisan Marketplace.

fac-edFoothills Art Center has a new executive director–Hassan Najjar.  Foothills members are invited to a reception to meet him from 4-5.  (If you’re not a member, today’s a good day to join!)  Then from 5-8, enjoy the opening night reception for the new show, Mountain Standard Clay.  Learn more….

Tonight’s and tomorrow night’s performances of You Can’t Take it With You at Miners Alley are sold out.  There are still a few tickets available for the Sunday afternoon show.  Don’t forget Young Frankenstein, performed by Mines Little Theater group.

The Jazz Cats will be playing tonight at Windy Saddle Cafe, from 6:30-8:30.  Enjoy a drink, a bite to eat, and some 1950s jazz.
