The Community Marketing Stakeholder Committee will review the Olde Golden Holidays events (Candlelight Walk, Holiday Parade, and Jingle on the Avenue).

They will discuss Goldens in Golden, which is coming up on February 8th. They will have three group photos under the arch and dog-centric vendors "adjacent to" Parfet Park.

They will also discuss applying for a grant from the Colorado Tourism Office. There are several categories of projects that would be eligible for a grant. One possibility they will discuss is adding digital screens or kiosks to the Visitors Center. This grant requires a local contribution, but the state will match every $1 of local funds with $4 of State Tourism money.

They will review the Marketing Plan for 2025, which promotes Golden as "The Perfect Day." The goal is to make Golden the "#1 preferred day trip destination for people who live in our geographic target areas." (See p. 8 of the meeting packet.)

The target areas include

  • Denver metro area (including Golden)
  • Front Range from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs
  • Out-of-state visitors.

The target demographics are:

  • Millenials (29-44 years old)
  • Families with children (25-54 years old)
  • Empty nesters (50 up to retirement)

The budget for 2025 is $524,423, plus anything left from the 2024 budget. Most of this goes to consultants, paid advertising, and the company that maintains the VisitGolden.com website. (See p. 15 of the meeting packet.)
