Art in the Parks
Representatives of the Public Art Commission will visit the Parks & Rec Board tonight. They will report on their plans to install up to $92,000 worth of art in Ulysses Park, which is currently being redesigned. They will also provide "general art updates," incuding plans for DeLong Park ($75,000), New Loveland Mine Park ($53,000), the triangle of City-owned land at the junction of East Street and South Golden Road ($75,000), and the Peaks to Plains Trail ($20,000). Heritage Dells Park
They will review options for replacing the playground equipment at Heritage Dells Park. (p. 14 of the meeting packet)
Delay in Annexation
Staff will update them on planned delay in annexing property north of town for use as a "business park." Some portion of this land will be dedicated to parks/trails/open space. (p. 23 of the meeting packet)
Goals for 2025
Their goals for next year include continuing the pesticide-free pilot program at DeLong Park, where a group of volunteers meet weekly to pull weeds. They will also participate in developing an Open Space Master Plan. They will "Seek opportunities for engagement with south neighborhood" regarding the Bachman property. They will continue efforts "to engage youth in park and recreation activities." (p. 24 of the meeting packet)
