The consultants who are working on the Open Space Master Plan will give a status report. 45 minutes are scheduled for this. Some members of the Parks Board have are concerned about this planning process, in that the work has been done with little Board input. A memo written by one of the board members (p. 8 of the meeting packet) expresses concern that the consultants are too geared to active use plans (parks) and not to conservation plans (open space). (Note: to learn more about Golden's Open Space, see the Stewards of Golden Open Space website.)

Staff will describe planned changes to the Lions Park Playground. The current equipment is considered to be nearing the end of its usable life, so they will be replacing it. They plan public engagement opportunities at the park on May 10th & 13th and July 7th & 11th.
