EDComm will discuss a new grant program for small businesses. The Downtown Development Authority has offered grants to businesses located downtown. The Golden Urban Renewal Authority is just starting to offer grants to businesses in GURA districts. Many Golden-based non-profit organizations are eligible for Thriving Communities grants. This new program is intended to support all of the businesses that are not located in downtown or GURA districts. Eligible projects include "Physical Improvements" and "Professional Services." See p. 6 of the meeting packet to learn more about the grants program.
They will review their work plan for 2025. They plan to begin hosting industry events and creating marketing materials about Golden's economy.
EDComm has a $70,000 budget (not counting staffing costs). The budget appears on p. 16 of the meeting packet.
