4th of July
The Golden Lions Club always puts on a great party for the 4th of July. Lions Park ring with live music and prize drawings from 12:15-9:15. You can bring your own picnic or buy food on-site. There will be FREE RIDES for the kids! At dusk, the park is a great place to enjoy the city’s fireworks show.
The club pays for these festivities through the sale of raffle tickets. You can buy them from any Lions Club member. They’ll be at King Soopers and the Farmers Market tomorrow. Tonight, the Cast Iron Tavern will provide a free draft beer to anyone who buys $10 worth of raffle tickets!
Golden Super Cruise
This is a good weekend for classic car lovers.
The Golden Super Cruise will take place tomorrow night from 5-8:30 along South Golden Road. In addition to the usual parade of classic cars, there are two special events this month.
The Golden VFW Post 4171 will host their 8th Annual Very Fine Wheels (get it? VFW?) Car Show tomorrow morning, from 8AM-1PM. They will have breakfast burritos and brats and hot dogs for lunch available for sale, live music by The Boogeyman, raffles, 50/50 drawings, and awards thanks to their sponsors. The Golden Vision Clinic at 2301 Ford St. will host a HOT VEHICLES PHOTO BOOTH during the SuperCruise, along with music, refreshments, car photography, and pin striping. Donations to Golden’s Christian Action Guild will be welcome.
