Mandolins and Mountains

The Arthur Lakes Library, on the School of Mines Campus, will host a mandolin concert today at noon.  Everyone is welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy the music! (map)

Powder7, a Golden-based ski shop, is hosting a documentary screening tonight at the Mountaineering Museum.  Climb to Glory tells the story of the legendary 10th Mountain Division Ski Troopers who returned from World War II and transformed the American ski industry, establishing the National Ski Patrol, and founding dozens of resorts around the country–including Vail. The documentary explores this far-reaching legacy with the fun and flair of traditional Warren Miller films.  Doors open @ 7:15, film @ 8:00, with tons of ski-related giveaways from host Proceeds from this special presentation will benefit the American Mountaineering Center in Golden. $10 Adults, $5 Children, including free giveaways.

Tomorrow morning, the Golden Family of Churches and 9News will offer a health fair at Bell Middle School.  Free and low-cost medical screenings and exams will be available.
