Golden was at the seat of the Colorado Gold Rush and boasts some of Colorado’s first and thus oldest continually running establishments. From cobblestone armories to territorial capital buildings, bowling saloons to wild west shootouts, we’ll show you why Golden was the seat of the Wild West!

Coffee with a Councilor returns to an in person gathering, so grab a cup of coffee and join your councilors at City Hall, 911 10th Street on the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. District 2 Councilor Casey Brown and District 1 Councilor J.J. Trout meet with citizens to hear concerns, or just have a conversation.

This meeting will feature special guest, City Manager Jason Slowinski who will discuss City successes and challenges, and the year ahead. Coffee and donuts will be provided!

I recently acquired this interesting old postcard, showing the Lariat Loop Road. Notice the stone pillars on the left side. Those were built in 1917, so the photo was taken some time after that.

We’ve planted a lot of trees in the last century, so the pillars are no longer visible from that location.
