The Parks & Recreation Board meets tonight at 7PM at the Golden Community Center. Their agenda includes a rather disconcerting item: “Lions Park Crime Prevention.” No additional information is provided in the meeting packet.
This morning at 10, the Railroad Museum will hold their monthly Storytime and Craft. Today’s story is Here Comes the School Train by William Bunce. This is suitable for children aged 4-6. It’s free for museum members, and $2 plus general admission for non-members.
The Tuesday night book group will meet at the library from 6-7 to discuss Bone Gap by Laura Ruby.
Tomorrow (Weds the 16th), the Golden History Center will host a book discussion focusing on World War I from 1:30-2:30. The story of a war is much more than the recital of facts, battles, and dates. No matter the impacts of war upon nations and the world order, the underlying story of a war is its immediate and long lasting impacts on individuals. The memorial service for long-time Golden Transcript employee John Tracy will be tomorrow morning at 10AM at the Green Center on the School of Mines campus, 924 16th Street (map). Be sure to factor in some time for parking. You may park in the blue and yellow lots shown on the map above. You must pay for parking, using the kiosks located at each lot (shown by orange dots on the map). The closest (permissible) lots to the Green Center are O, J, I, and CT.
