- Saoirse Charis-Graves had a special guest at her Coffee with a Councilor: our new City Manager, Jason Slowinski.
- We had a City Council election, and the winners were Casey Brown and Saoirse Charis-Graves for the district jobs, and Marjorie Sloan for Mayor.
- Golden Beer Talks, then in its third year, hosted a representative from NIST in Boulder, who talked about the Atomic Clock.
- The Downtown Development Authority considered a modernist redesign of the Parfet Park bus stop.
- Golden hosted a belly dancing conference.
- A tree fell on the power lines to the M on Mount Zion, which caused the lights to burn out. The M-Blem was dark for several days, then the white bulbs were replaced by red while they waited for a shipment of new white bulbs.
- Golden High School presented The Addams Family.
- Miners Alley Playhouse opened their holiday play, A Tuna Christmas. Their Children’s Theater opened The Story of the Nutcracker.
- The merchants celebrated Small Business Saturday with an Elf contest. Shoppers were encouraged to visit Golden Businesses and post a selfie on social media. Customers who visited the most businesses were entered in a drawing for cash prizes.
- The Polar Express at the Railroad Museum, then in its second year, was already wildly popular and nearly sold out. Only single tickets were available by mid-November.
