Saturday recap, Mayor Sloan, and Mountain Melodies

Dave Powers captured yesterday in Golden quite thoroughly, hitting the Farmers Market, downtown Golden, the Quilt Museum, Foothills Animal Shelter, and the Super Cruise.  See the photos on our Facebook page.

Our Marvelous Mayor, Marjorie Sloan, has announced that she will run for a second term!

The sounds of string bands and bluegrass music will drift across Buffalo Bill’s grave today at the 13th Annual Mountain Melodies Music Festival. The festival annually highlights both established and new musical talent from Colorado’s Front Range communities. Sponsored by the Buffalo Bill Museum and funded by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, this is a free event.

Grab your picnic basket, blankets and lawn chairs and spend the afternoon at Buffalo Bill’s grave on Lookout Mountain. You will enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the Rocky Mountain Front Range while listening to some homegrown American music.
