I started this website in 2007. For the first four years, I overwrote the news on the home page every day. I now regret the loss of that archival material. In 2011, I switched to WordPress, and every day's news was saved into an archive. When I rolled out my new website earlier this year, I was able to bring along the archive, so I now have 13 years worth of Golden news saved!
Last night I was reviewing the doings of November, 2011. I thought you might enjoy reading some highlights:
- Marjorie Sloan was elected as Mayor. Saoirsa Charis-Graves was elected to District 1 and Marcie Miller to District 2.

The CSM Geology Museum had 11 new exhibits, including moon rocks, emeralds, opals, and silver. Foothills Art Center was hosting the National Watermedia Show. The American Mountaineering Museum had an exhibit of Brad Washburn photos. The Astor House Hotel Museum had Victorian parlor games, and tableaux, and the Golden History Museum was set up to broadcast live on the Mines radio station as visitors added their own percussion line to the Golden Overture.
