The Orion Spacecraft: Carrying Humans to the Moon and Beyond - presentation by Heather McKay

Ballroom A

Orion is NASA’s next generation spacecraft, uniquely designed to carry humans to explore deep space. No other spacecraft in development has the technology needed for the extremes of deep space, such as life support, navigation, communication, radiation shielding, and safety systems to protect astronauts and return them safely back home. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor, designing and building the Orion spacecraft as part of NASA’s Artemis program, to develop a sustainable presence on the lunar surface of the moon and prepare humans to explore Mars. Come learn about the technologies, testing, and mission plans for the Orion spacecraft, including Artemis III, which will carry the first woman and the next man to the surface of the moon later this decade.

The lecture is free and open to the general public.
