HOW & WHERE TO PARK IN GOLDEN ON THE 4TH
For the 52nd year, the Golden Lions Club will host a 4th of July Festival in Lions Park, at 10th & Maple. Get there early and buy some raffle tickets, because they hold drawings all day long, throughout the day. The grand prize (announced at the end of the day) is $1,000!
You can bring a picnic, or buy food from the on-site vendors (Woody's Pizza, Brown Gringo Tacos, Hip Pop, Gator Tails, or hot dogs from the American Legion). Beverages available include Coors, Golden City Brewery, Bonacquisti Wines, and hard seltzers.
There will be live music all day, including:
- 11:30AM-2:30PM - Jewel & the Rough (rock & roll)
- 3:30-6:30PM - Ryan Chrys and the Roughcuts (outlaw country)
- 6:45-7:15PM - Golden Eagle Concert Band (patriotic band music)
There will be lots of fun for the kids, including face painters and a bunch of inflatable amusements--all free!
There will be NO FIREWORKS, so the event is over after the band concert.
Since I'm using these vintage photos for illustrations, here's one last one. Lions Park still had a pond in 2008!
