The Golden Fire Department is excited to welcome a new fire truck to Station 1! Come celebrate this time-honored fire service tradition with us.
A "wet down" is a ceremonial tradition dating back to the 1800s when firefighters would wash their equipment after calls. Today, it symbolizes the commissioning of a new fire truck into service. You’ll even see the truck sprayed with water and “pushed” into the station bay.
