Wildlife, Dinosaurs, and Music Tonight in Golden

Jefferson County Invasive Species Management and Jeffco Open Space will present Intro to Wildlife Refuges from 6-7:30PM tonight at the Jeffco Open Space Building, 700 Jefferson County Pkwy (map). Jeffco is lucky to have a varied landscape, where the mountains meet the plains. David Lucas, USFWS Project Leader, Colorado Front Range National Wildlife Refuge Complex will speak about the current and future efforts to manage wildlife at our regional refuges. Ages 16 and up. Free. Register.


The Sustainability Advisory Board meets tonight at 6PM in City Council Chambers. The agenda was not yet available as of Tuesday night, but check the agenda page before the meeting.


The Library is holding their monthly Ukulele Wednesday tonight from 6-7:30. Got a Ukulele? Know a few chords or songs? Jam with us and other ukulele enthusiasts the last Wednesday of each month. These are not lessons, just a chance to play with others. Suitable for: Ages 13+.


Dinosaur Ridge will offer a free talk about Theropods, the meat-eating dinosaurs, from 6-7:30PM at the Dinosaur Ridge Discovery Center (map).

Dinosaur Ridge will celebrate their 30th Anniversary this weekend, with events starting tomorrow (Thursday) night and running through Sunday. Learn more…. Families should plan to attend their carnival on Saturday from 11AM-3PM.

Thursday Morning Preview:

Tomorrow morning from 9:30-11AM, more than 55 student teams from Mines’ civil, electrical, mechanical and environmental engineering departments will display their projects, all designed to tackle real-world challenges faced by industry, government agencies and community organizations.
