Golden Games - Golden COThe 16th Annual Golden Community Rodeo Series starts tonight on Clear Creek and continues for the next two Wednesdays (June 20th and 27th). According to their website, Everyone is welcome to compete, no matter your skill level (sorry, no pros allowed)… or just come cheer on the boaters! First two evenings will be a freestyle competition. Native flowers at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center - Golden ColoradoThe Lookout Mountain Nature Center is seeking volunteers to care for their native plant garden. If you’re interested, join Native Plant Masters tonight from 6:30-8:30 for a fun evening of learning to identify plants native to Jefferson County, discover techniques on how to care for a native plant garden, and become a garden guardian helping to care for Lookout Mountain Nature Center’s unique gardens! EDTalks - Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum

The CSM Geology Museum is about to present a series of EDTalks – Minerals Worth Sharing, presented by Ed Raines, the Museum’s Collections Manager and recognized expert on Colorado minerals and mining history.  Ed will provide an in-depth look at important mining districts of Colorado focusing on their history and geology.  Here’s the schedule of upcoming talks:

June 14 – History of the Creede Mining Site
June 21 – Geology of Creede, CO
Aug 2 – History of the Gilman Mines
Aug 9 – Geology of Gilman, CO

All talks will be held at 4PM in the Arthur Lakes Library’s Boettcher Room, 1400 Illinois St.
