Here’s the run-down on this week’s city meetings. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings will be held in City Council Chambers and the meeting packet with all the details is available online.

The Downtown Development Authority meets tonight at 6:30. They will consider grant requests of $2500 from Cafe 13, $3000 from the Colorado Environmental Film Festival, and $2500 from the Golden History Center. They will also review their list of potential near-term, mid-term, and long-term projects.

The Economic Development Commission was rescheduled from last Tuesday to this week, and will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 at the Planning office (1445 10th Street). They will discuss several upcoming networking events, including August 16 (the Traxion incubator in the Armory building), September 22 (Pharmajet in the Corporate Center business park) and an unspecified September date featuring Pharmajet in the downtown area.

Public Works will conduct a public input meeting Wednesday night from 6:30-8 at the Community Center. CDOT has asked Golden to partner with them in a grant request for a new wildlife crossing across Highway 6, between Heritage and 19th. The Parks and Rec department is less than enthused, because the visiting elk do huge and expensive damage to the golf course.

City Council will have a study session (no public comment) this Thursday at 6:30. Public Works will discuss the rates for sewer service in the West 3rd area near the Jeffco Fairgrounds. Public Works will also provide an update on street conditions throughout Golden. Parks and Recreation will discuss their plans for the rehabilitated Astor House. That site will need to be reinterpreted and refurnished. Finally, the City Manager will lead a discussion about communication objectives and desired outcomes, with particular emphasis on the Council Hotline.
