Welcome Newcomers and Other Details

The Golden Visitors Center has a new program, designed to welcome new residents to Golden. If you or someone you know is new to the community, stop at the Visitors Center at 1001 Washington Avenue. Introduce yourself, and they’ll give you an “All Things Golden” goody bag. In the bag, you’ll find special offers from several local businesses and other goodies. The Visitors Center is a great resource for All Things Golden!

The Sustainability Board meets tonight at 6PM in City Council Chambers. The Public Works Director will report on the purchase of the street lights from Xcel Energy and discuss potential energy savings projects. The Board will review public comments on the proposed new sustainability goals and discuss their work plan for 2019. See the agenda for more details….

New Terrain Brewing is having a ski & snowboard tune night from 4-9PM. Get your gear tuned up AND a beer while you wait for $20. Bent Gate Mountaineering is holding a Swix Wax clinic. Learn about different types of waxes and how to apply them, enjoy some refreshment and grab some swag.

Bell’s Chamber Orchestra will perform at the school from 6:30-7:30 this evening.

Dinosaur Ridge is offering a free Dinosaur Talk at 10 tomorrow morning on Sauropods.

The School of Mines has two talks tomorrow afternoon–an EDTalk on the History of Aspen at the Arthur Lakes Library, and Unconventional Rocks (moon rocks, in fact) in Berthoud Hall, room 241. Both are at 4PM.
