Valentine’s Day…and Beyond

Happy Valentine’s Day!  If you’re tired of hearing about it, buck up–it will be over soon.  If you’re not, and wish it would go on longer, cheer up–there are still a few Valentine-related events this weekend.

Barrels & Bottles Brewery plans to host a couple of weddings/vow renewals on Friday night, between 6 and 8PM. They’re calling the event “Hoppily Ever After,” and the brewery will be open to the public throughout.  Whether you love weddings or beer, Barrels & Bottles will be the place to be on Friday.

Mines Little Theater group is putting on a “Valentine’s Day Show” Friday night from 6-9 in the Ben Parker Student Center, Ballroom C (1310 Maple St. – map). Come one, come all: couples, singles, and awkward alternatives to both, and enjoy a delightful night of singing sappy love songs about significant others and sappier love songs about murder and occasional cooking utensils. Mines Little Theatre is delighted to put on this show as another convenient way to sit in a room with your significant other not talking, but under the guise of romance this time. The show is free, and the public is invited.

Colorado Railroad Museum - Golden Colorado

Saturday night from 5-7PM, the Colorado Railroad Museum is hosting “Date on the Diner.” This will be a mid-century themed affair and period dress is encouraged. Seating will begin at 4:30pm with dinner served at 5:00pm followed by a short theatrical performance. Both dinner and the performance will occur on the beautiful Union Pacific Dining Car. The cost is $150 per couple. If you forgot to do anything about Valentines Day, this date would make a brilliant come-back!
