Happy Birthday Tracy!

We’ll have a few quiet days in Golden this week–a somewhat welcome respite after all the holiday hoopla. Just a few reminders….

The Holiday Art Market at Foothills Art Center will be open through the 30th. The Golden History Museum is open, with free admission, through the 30th. After that it will be closed for several months while they remodel. I’m going to stop in there for one last look at the WPA Diarama of 1860s Golden.

If you have out of town company, take them to the Quilt Museum, Buffalo Bill Museum, Mountaineering Museum, or Railroad Museum….at least, that’s what my relatives are interested in. Yours might be more interested in local trails.

The Golden Library started a very popular event a couple years ago: they have a “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration for families at noon on December 31st, with party hats, noisemakers, a balloon drop, and bubblewrap “fireworks.” Their registrations are already full, but they’re still accepting people for the wait list.
