Review: Miners Alley Presents an Intelligent, Exciting Cabaret

By Juliet Wittman

I can’t remember how many productions of Cabaret I’ve seen over the last decade, but Len Matheo’s version at Miners Alley is by far the clearest, most intelligent and most exciting…  Read more…

Heading into a Busy Weekend

Golden High School Graduation

Congratulations to Golden High School Class of 2017!  Graduation exercises will be held at 9AM at the Colorado School of Mines, Marv Kay Stadium.  The school website says that the ceremony will take place, rain or shine (or snow, presumably).

Community Pride Days will happen tomorrow and Sunday, so if you haven’t already gathered up all the stuff you want to get rid of, do it today!

The 7th Annual Golden Games is scheduled for this weekend.  Check their website to see whether they’re rescheduled in light of the weather.  Tonight’s events take place in Morrison, at Big Soda Lake at the Bear Creek Lake Park.  Saturday and Sunday events are scheduled for Clear Creek in downtown Golden.

This is opening night for the new Miners Alley Playhouse production, Cabaret.  Performances will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through June 25th.  Learn more….

Tomorrow
A group of Golden area residents and community leaders has launched Golden United:  a non-partisan effort engaging people across all walks of life to find common ground and act together to strengthen Golden’s character as a “small town with heart.”

The group plans to tackle topics, such as improving respect, maintaining economic diversity, supporting residents and strengthening education programs.

If you are interested in learning more about the group, you are invited to join a potluck lunch Saturday at noon at the Lions Park East Pavilion.  Bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks, meet Golden United organizers, and learn how you can participate.  RSVP to Ron Benioff at benioffron@gmail.com.
