Golden Beer Talks will take place tonight at 6:30 at Windy Saddle Cafe. Lisa S. Gardiner, PhD will discuss Tales from an Uncertain World: What Other Assorted Disasters Can Teach Us About Climate Change. Tonight’s beer comes from Hogshead 54 Brewery. Food and beer will be available at 6PM, with the speaker starting around 6:35PM. Following the presentation, they’ll take a brief intermission before Q + A, wrapping up around 7:45PM. There is no cover charge and no purchase is necessary

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) meets at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. A board member from the Chamber of Commerce will be there to give a status report on the Chamber’s plans and finances. GoFarm will request an economic incentive for a proposed new greenhouse that will grow food. A property owner in the Goosetown neighborhood has offered the use of his property. The requested incentive would be to have the City provide a water tap on the property, which would be worth a minimum of $29,000. Staff will suggest a couple of alternatives. Staff will also provide an update on several on-going projects, such as this year’s agreement with Traxion and the proposed Local Business Awareness program.

We’re compiling a list of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations for this weekend, but here’s one I need to mention early: the Golden Elks are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day dinner at 6PM Saturday night, with corned beef & cabbage, mashed potatoes, Irish sausage, Irish soda bread, and dessert for $25. If you’re interested, you need to RSVP today: leadk.gel2740@gmail.com or golden274@gmail.com.
