School Funding, Jeffco Snakes, Planning Commission

The Library is hosting a program at 6:00 called Snakes Alive – Jefferson County’s SnakesSlither in to Golden Library and learn about Jefferson County’s most common reptiles. An Open Space Park Ranger discusses snake identification, illustrates bite first aid and even debunks some common myths while sharing some live snakes during this informative hands-on demonstration.


Shelton Elementary (420 Crawford Street, Golden, CO map) will be hosting a meeting about school funding initiatives, including Amendment 73, mill levy and bond measure from 6-7PM this evening.


The Planning Commission has a study session (no public comment) tonight at 6:30PM in City Council Chambers.  They will be joined by members of City Council and the Mobility and Transportation Advisory Board (MTAB) to discuss building a Transportation Master Plan.


The Scientific Spelling Stomp, sponsored by Dinosaur Ridge, will take place this Saturday from 2:30-6PM at the Mountaineering Center, 710 10th St.  Join us for a new twist on the traditional spelling bee. Last year’s event was so much fun, we decided to host the 2nd Annual Scientific Spelling Stomp, where teams of up to four people will show off their scientific spelling skills. Brush up on your “archaeans” and “schistosity” and earn amazing prizes and the title of 2018 Dinosaur Ridge Scientific Spelling Stomp Champion. We know your team will do a “gneiss” job!
