The Golden Gran Fondo bike race takes place today. This is a road race, and they will not be shutting down traffic except a brief period at 8AM when Washington Avenue will shut down for the race start. The race offers 3 route options–20 miles, 63 miles, and 91 miles. They will be celebrating all day (8AM-5PM) in Parfet Park. See the City’s page or the Race website for more information.
The Golden Library is starting something new today: Adult Makers Guild. Calling all makers! Have a project idea but not all the tools? Want to learn a new skill? Golden’s DIY Lab gives you a place to meet other tinkerers and use our Maker Space to work on your latest project. Become part of a like-minded community of adults while exploring the possibilities, from fiber arts to hand tools to robotics. Suitable for: Adults. This gathering will take place in the library’s DIY Lab from 12:30-2:30.
The Golden Community Center will be closed Monday through Friday of this week for maintenance. It will also be closed Monday September 4th for Labor Day.
