Quilts, Burgers, Discards, Soccer, and Health in Golday

The Quilt Museum is holding one of their popular Sundays at the Museum today from 2-4PM. Today’s topic is Red, White and Blue Quilts with Henry Hite. Henry and his wife Angela are prolific quilt collectors. The Hite family owns a number of different quilt collections and their Hawaiian quilts are currently on display at RMQM. In this presentation, Henry will do a show and tell of his collection of Red, White and Blue quilts.

Bob’s Atomic Burgers is hosting a fund-raiser today. ALL purchases will benefit the Golden Backpack Program!

This is the last day day of Golden Pride Days. City employees will be on hand at 1300 Catamount Dr (map) to accept your unwanted electronic waste (anything with a cord), mattresses & box springs, metal to be recycled, tires (car tires only, limit four per household), tree brush & debris, yard waste or lumber materials. They will also shred up to 4 boxes of documents for you–remove all paper clips and staples.

If you like to watch soccer, this is your lucky day: the Colorado Soccer Association’s Adult State Cup FINAL will be played this afternoon from 3-5PM at the Denver Kickers Club (map), right here in Golden. If you like to play soccer, you should head to Southridge Park (map) on Sunday evenings for pick-up games. Kids play at 4PM and adults play at 4:30PM. All ages and skill levels are welcome!

At 3:30 today, join Golden Women in Business for their annual Spring into Health Expo. Browse healthy products from local vendors and meet the 1st Golden female Fire Chief. The Expo will take place at Connects Workspace, 1301 Arapahoe.
