Parks Board, Visiting Poet, Jeffco Open Space

As mentioned yesterday, The Railroad Museum’s Storytime and Craft is this morning at 10, and the Liquor Licensing Authority will meet at 2 in City Council Chambers.

The Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board meets tonight at 7PM at the Community Center. The meeting packet does not include details, but the topics are: Municipal Budget, Single Track Sidewalks – Public Process Discussion, Bachman Agricultural Use. If these topics are of interest to you, plan to attend. The meeting will not be broadcast live, but an audio-only recording will eventually be posted on the Agenda page.

Jeffco Open Space has a program tomorrow night from 6-7:30: Outdoor Recreation in the West: Who Cares?  The program is free, but please register.

Rebecca Watson, shareholder in the law firm of Welborn Sullivan Meek & Tooley, P.C. in Denver, will speak about the challenges faced by agencies tasked with providing outdoor recreation on public lands. With more than 30 years of legal and policy experience in the fields of conventional and renewable energy, mining, natural resources and federal environmental law, Rebecca counsels companies on environmental regulatory compliance and agency engagement strategies.

Rebecca is nationally recognized as a top energy and natural resources lawyer. Public land stewardship is a focus of her pro bono activity. She serves as the Secretary for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation’s governing board, is a board member and past-Chair of the Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, and serves on the advisory board for Jeffco Open Space.
