Miners Alley Playhouse is premiering their new play tonight.  With audacious humor and bold inventiveness, Aaron Posner takes The Merchant of Venice from its Shakespearean setting to post-Civil War Washington, D.C., with hints at life in America today. In the complex and contradictory worlds of blacks, whites, Jews, and Christians, money changes hands with dangerously high stakes, philanthropic acts mask blatant opportunism and would-be lovers hide—and then uncover—their differences. While love gets a chance, does hope remain for a just and kind tomorrow?  This play will run from May 18th – June 24th Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday’s at 2PM.  Check the video below:

Smoothies of Doom at the Golden Library

The Library has Teens After Dark: Smoothies of Doom from 5-6 tonight. Test your trivia skills and taste buds in this game of food and knowledge! The host asks a trivia question, if your team gets the wrong answer, your blender gets a surprise ingredient. If your team gets the correct answer, you’re off the hook!
