The Buffalo Bill Museum is offering FREE admission today, as they celebrate Buffalo Bill’s Birthday. Join them at noon for birthday cake and ice cream, then enjoy hands-on activities and special programs from 12:30-4PM.

Foothills Art Center is starting an Art Book Club. Their first book is The Goldfinch: A Novel by Donna Tartt.

Centered around an orphaned New Yorker, Theo, The Goldfinch painting is what captivates and draws him into the underworld of art during life as a young teenager who’s struggling to come to terms with the tragic loss of his mother. As an adult, Theo’s life unfolds into a dark, complex and mysterious love story as he continues to struggle with loss, identity and survival.

This book won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction (2014) and is due to be released as a movie later this year.

The first Art Book Club meeting will be Friday April 12th at noon. The cost to attend is $8 for nonmembers or free for members. Their next book, The Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier, will be discussed on August 23, 2019.

On a related note, the Golden Library‘s current art exhibit features work inspired by another art book club: Books for Art Lovers – Book Collage Images by Diane Kaiser. Art Under Cover book Club is a book club for Artists and people who are interested in the Arts. From all of the books that the club has read, they have selected some of their favorite books about the arts and artists for this particular exhibit. Each composite image in this display represents a book read by the book club. These images are compiled, printed and framed by Collage Artist, Diane L. Kaiser. The Library is open today from 12-5PM.
