The Pleasant View Lions Club is hosting a Fishing Derby today from 10AM-1PM at Westblade Park, 16780 Mount Vernon Road (map). The Lions Club will supply fishing poles and bait as well as free hot dogs, drinks, and chips to all fisherkids. This is open to kids up through age 16. Children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult, and the adult needs to sign a liability release.

Get Rid of Stuff Today

There’s a Shred-A-Thon at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 200 Jefferson County Parkway (map) from 7AM-12PM today. They will shred up to 3 legal-sized boxes or kitchen sized garbage bags of document. They will ask for a donation to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

If you have unneeded clothes, household goods, and pantry items, these places would be glad to relieve you of your excess “stuff.”

Electronic Waste (anything with a cord)
Limited paper shredding (4 boxes – remove all paper clips & staples)
Mattresses & box springs
Metal recycling
Tires (Car tires only, limit four per household)
Tree brush & debris
Yard waste or lumber materials

Do Not Bring propane tanks, batteries, pharmaceuticals, hazardous waste, fluorescent lights, or paint. More information….
