The final Golden History Roundtable will take place this morning at 11:30 at the Golden Library. We’ll have two short talks today.

Frank Blaha will trace Golden’s water history, from our earliest days of dipping buckets in Clear Creek to laying our first water pipes, to our pursuit of a “pure and wholesome” drinking water supply as Clear Creek became polluted by upstream mining and industry, to our current enviable position of holding senior water rights even as we pursue aggressive conservation goals. Frank is an environmental engineer and has done water quality research for the past 21 years. He also serves as the Beer Ambassador for the Golden Beer Talks lecture series! Paragraph

Barb Warden will give the second talk. She’ll describe Golden’s Christmas celebrations, beginning with our first Christmas ball in 1859 through our current month-long Olde Golden Christmas extravaganza. Barb is a history enthusiast, author of three books, and the publisher of Goldentoday.com.
