Crime, Coyotes, 14ers, Fish, Trivia, and Music

Officer Joe Page from the Golden Police Department will discuss crime prevention and provide safety tips at 2PM today at the Library.

Jefferson County Open Space will present a program about Coyote Country from 6-7:30 this evening. Whether you are concerned or curious about coyotes, you’ll want to attend this talk highlighting recent findings on coyote biology, ecology and behavior as it impacts Jeffco residents. Mary Ann Bonnell, JCOS Visitor Services Manager will be our speaker. She has been instrumental in promoting coyote awareness in our region. The Planning Commission has a Study Session tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will be discussing possible changes to the sustainability menu used in permitting new construction. The Sustainability Board has provided a number of suggestions to make those requirements more stringent. They suggest that solar be required for new construction, that plug-ins for electric vehicles be required for new commercial construction, and that new multi-tenant buildings have separate utility meters for each tenant.  They also suggest that, if the city annexes new land, any new construction in the newly-annexed area must be net zeroSee the meeting packet for the details….

Bent Gate Mountaineering has a talk tonight from 6-7PM by a man who climbed/rode 54 fourteeners in a single season.

Arbor Anglers is hosting a Women’s Gear Geek Out & Fly Tying Night from 6:30-9:30. Women are invited to bring their gear and their gear questions and enjoy a fly-tying party.

The Colorado Mountain Club is hosting a free night of Nepalise culture, cuisine and adventure led by Karma Sherpa. See, hear, learn, and nibble from 6:30-8 tonight.
