Golden Bicycle Cruise - Golden Colorado

The Golden Bicycle Cruise happens tonight. This family friendly event meets at the parking lot west of the Golden Public library. Same format as years past….Kegs tapped at 6:00 p.m. in the library parking lot (site of the Golden Farmer’s Market). Ride starts at 7:00 p.m. Festivities continue with food, beer and music until 9:30 p.m. Food by Bob’s Atomic Burgers, music by the Skeleton Dolls, and beer by New Terrain. Tonight’s theme is Red White & Blue.  The moon will rise at 7:18 this evening, and it’s one day short of full.  Pretty night for a ride!

Tomorrow is Bike-to-Work Day. The City will be hosting a breakfast station from 6:30-9AM in front of the Visitors Center.

The Golden Bike Library is in full swing for the year. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 10AM-4PM. The bike shed is located between the Visitors Center and the Creek, and you can borrow one for free for two hours or rent it for a full day for $10.

The City is doing a pilot program this summer with dockless bikes placed throughout downtown. To use these bikes, download the ofo app, scan the code on a bike, and borrow it for $1/hour.

If you need a place to ride, check out the City’s many miles of trails.

Golden-based Yeti Cycles will be building a new headquarters and outdoor recreation campus just north of Golden on Highway 93.  See the Transcript article about the new development.

If you have a bike to give away, or you need one and can’t afford to buy one, check out the Golden Optimists Club’s bike shop on Johnson Road.
