A Very Kid-Friendly Weekend in Golden

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Miners Alley Playhouse, Golden Colorado

Miners Alley Children’s Theater is opening a new play today:  The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  This play will run through October 27th, with performances every Saturday at 1PM.  On the 20th and 27th of October, they will also have 11AM shows.  Purchase tickets online or call the box office: 303-935-3044.

Thomas the Tank Engine at the Colorado Railroad Museum - Golden CO

This is the final weekend for Day Out With Thomas at the Railroad Museum, and they still have some time slots available.  Kids love this event, and it’s the biggest fund-raiser of the year for the Museum.  If you miss it, you’ll have to wait another year to visit Thomas!

The Scientific Spelling Stomp, sponsored by Dinosaur Ridge, will take place this afternoon from 2:30-6PM at the Mountaineering Center, 710 10th St.  Join us for a new twist on the traditional spelling bee. Last year’s event was so much fun, we decided to host the 2nd Annual Scientific Spelling Stomp, where teams of up to four people will show off their scientific spelling skills. Brush up on your “archaeans” and “schistosity” and earn amazing prizes and the title of 2018 Dinosaur Ridge Scientific Spelling Stomp Champion. We know your team will do a “gneiss” job! Or, join us as an audience member to cheer on your favorite team.  Learn more and buy tickets.

Drafts with Drafts happens today from 5-8 at the Horse Protection League.  Food, live music, Westernaires trick ropers, and unlimited carriage rides on a beautiful, historic ranch (map).  The cost is only $20 for adults, and kids under 10 are free!

Sunday Preview:
The Golden Gallop takes place tomorrow morning.  Even if you’re not planning to run (or walk), come down and cheer on the participants!  It’s a nice event, and it benefits the Golden Schools Foundation.
